Spicy Dill Green Beans

Green beans can sometimes get boring. I mean really, how many ways can you actually cook those little veggies? Well, here’s a way to spice them up with a bit of garlic, dill, and dried pepper flakes.

Green beans are actually the unripe fruit of specific beans: common bean, winged bean, and hyacinth bean. Also know as French beans and runner beans, there are over 130 different types grown.

  • A couple handfuls of full length green beans, washed, end cut off, and cut into 1" pieces

  • 1 clove galice, minced

  • 2 tsp olive oil

  • 2 tsp dried dill

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp dried crushed red pepper flakes


  1. Heat olive oil in a large saute pan over medium heat, then add garlic. Saute until browned, about 1.5 minutes. Stir occasionally.

  2. Next add the green beans, dill, salt, and red pepper flakes and stir to combine. Saute until green beans are tender, about 8 minutes.

  3. Serve as a side - or top on a salad!
